Introduction to Player Options Blackjack

Additionally to the traditional Player Options Blackjack, as Hitting (take another card) and Stand option (take no more cards), all the players have the opportunity to benefit from the edge of extra Player Options Blackjack, such as Split, Doubling option and the less frequently used options as Surrendering and Insurance options.

Player Options Blackjack: Split

The Split solution at online blackjack can be chosen if the first two cards dealt to the gambler are a pair of the same rank. The player then has a chance to divide the first two cards making two independent combinations and automatically be dealt one more card per every hand. This option needs an extra wager that is the same as the original wager.

For Example, let’s pretend the first two cards dealt to you are two 8’s. (In fact this is the best possible example of when definitely to turn to splitting, as in other cases the hand combination would be valued as 16, that has an extremely high probability of busting if the player hits and a small probability of winning if he stands). The player decides to split and raises the initial bet of $5 to $10. The dealer deals additional card to every new hand. If the first combination was given the Ace and the other combination a 5, the player stops on the first combination with the count of soft 19, and draws on other hand combination receiving a 10 and losing with 23. Let’s say the croupier has 17, that signals the gamer is the winner on the first combination and is the loser with the 2nd one.

Doubling option

The Doubling Player Options Blackjack allow the gamer to increase his/her wager once he or she is 100% sure that only 1 extra card might make his/her hand combination stronger than the hand of the dealer. The bet is increased twice, but some casinos let Doubling for lower than 2 times. This ability is known as the Doubling option for less. The choice of Doubling Down provides a high edge to the gambler as he may win a lot more. If the gambler hand is a nine or a ten or 11 valued hand, it is adviced that he doubles down because there is a large probability of getting a strong hand with one another card.

Surrendering

The Surrender, however, not very widely provided has 2 variants. These variants of Player Options Blackjack are famous as Early and Late Surrendering option. Early Surrender is the solution that lets the gamer to give up his or her hand and half of his or her original wager before the croupier checks his/her cards for Natural. This provides a bigger edge to the gambler and this is the reason why it is almost not offered. The Late Surrender option, however still seldom seen, lets the gamer to give up 1/2 of his or her bet and his or her combination only after the croupier has verified his cards (it is to be noted that in case the dealer does have a natural, no gambler is let to Surrender and all the gamers lose except for the ones that do have a Blackjack that pushes or ties).

Surrender option is advised if the gambler has a weak combination with a high chance of busting if he or she chooses to hit against a dealer high face up card.

Insurance option

Insuring is offered to all the gamers in case the croupier facing up card is the Ace. In such cases, all gamblers are provided to insure their wagers against the croupier blackjack. The cost of the wager is most of the time half of the original wager and pays out (if the dealer does have a natural) 2-to-1. In such cases, when placing the insurance wager players risk only 1/2 of the original wager. But, according to the blackjack tips the Insurance option is considered as a vain one as only the guru card counters may tell when the croupier PROBABLY has a blackjack.

In case you are new to blackjack games and considers it to be a bit complicated for you, start with such traditional games as roulette, casino slot games and video poker at the leading casinos.
